Partner Socketfinder®

In 1994 we began to look for a solution for making femoral sockets :

No orthopaedic CAD system was able to meet our needs.

That's why in 1995 we purchased a digitally controlled moulding machine and a 3D scanner initially designed for mechanical engineering.

The system allowed us to copy the existing sockets exactly and to record the data. Little by little we are building up a socket database. In the early days, when we needed to fit a new patient, we looked for a socket with approximately the required measurements from our database. We then made the socket and adjusted it by hand. Very soon, to deal with the ever increasing amount of data, we had to develop search engines capable of scanning the whole database and of screening out the sockets matching the target data.

From that moment on we were in possession of a high performance tool adapted to the needs of our business.

In 1999 S&S Sàrl extended the concept further :
A world database of sockets has been established.
Any prosthesist can consult it and add their sockets using Socketfinder® software.
Because we are convinced of the logic of the concept we have decided to add our database to that of Socketfinder® .
In partnership with Socketfinder® we can manufacture any type of socket from the database for our own use or for a third party. In the same way, we can scan any socket to place it in the Socketfinder® database.
