KX05

Knee-disarticulation special knee joint

Finally expectations are fulfilled by knee-disarticulation patients !
In order to fulfill the needs of kneedisarticulation patients and patients with long AK stumps, our coworkers developed and manufactured a frame, which contains the famous Mauch®hydraulic unit.
The first prototype is in function since 1997 .

The use of aeronautical aluminium guaranteed an exemplary stability.
The high precision bearings give to the unit a reliability not equalized in the field of the knees for long stumps.
The geometry of this knee contributes to a flexible and sure walk.

Development

The first tests of knees for disarticulation of the knee go back to 1996.
The first version included the Mauch® hydraulic and some existing knee parts. The frame, out of aluminium was milled in our workshops.

his first knee, fitted in 1997, still functions.

More than one year afterwards, we milled 5 units out of aeronautical aluminium. This time, the frames had been carved with round curves. After this experiment, we made sub-contract a series. All these knees were past for the proper needs for our company.

All times, the lengthening and the weight of this articulation deserved an improvement.. In 2000, we decided to start again the exercise with the Mauch® Jr. This one is more powerful than his big brother in spite of his 30 mm less. As of 2001 of the prototypes were tested by amputees.

From the very start 2002, some people did not walk any more without KX05 !!

In 2003, more than 50 units was in function:

A new standard was established !

KX05 is the fruit of work with the amputees and corresponds to their requests as regards walk and our requests as regards reliability.
