KX06
The first and only polycentrical kneejoint with stance control
In 2004 was the KX06 project launched.
The completely new concept allows the use of SNS hydraulic units.
For its development, we acquired new software of engineering allowing complete modeling and the simulation of the constraints. .
The first prototypes are tested by patients of Botta & sons in May 2005 with much of success
This new geometry has the effect of increasing the length of the lever on the unit compared to a monocentric system . Moreover the instantaneous centre of rotation falls quickly what supports loading of piston SNS.
To walk downhill with a polycentric knee is not from now not any more an Utopia with the KX06!

For the KX06, we used Solidworks with the Cosmosworks extension for the simulation of the loads.
The KX06 passed successfully all the tests required by standard ISO10328. The tests were repeated at the beginning the year 2006 with higher loads in order to guarantee our products for patients weighing up to 150 kg.
The KX06 offers the management of the Swing and the Stance phase with performances appreciably higher than the knees monocentric. ( by irony, this knee for knee-disarticulation also fit perfectly AK amputees).
The KX06 has to become a new reference!

KX06 is the fruit of work with the amputees and corresponds to their requests as regards walk and our requests as regards reliability.
