For tibial prostheses in particular, we replace the modular system used for trials with a balsa wood core strengthened with carbon fibre :
this technique permits the construction of below knee prostheses which weigh less than 900g for an average-sized patient.

Titanium, light-weight alloys and composites permit the construction of very light devices.

Femoral sockets are fashioned from poplar : once fined-down and resin laminated, they are as light as plastic sockets.

Integration of the ischium

Ischion integration

Initially known as CAT-CAM, the prosthetic technique for femoral amputations consists of integrating the ischiatic tuberosity into the socket to obtain increased lateral stability, taking into account the volume and shape of the stump and distal contact.

Our computer-assisted manufacturing process together with Socketfinder® software helps us in this process,

which may be extended to the following cases :

Dynamic moulding and softsocket with offset

Dynamic moulding

Dynamic moulding

Dynamic moulding is intended not only to give a perfect plaster mould of the stump but also, through its orientation, to simulate the load it has to bear. Through a balanced distribution of the load we are able to achieve total contact, including distally.
The moulding is carried out on a support stocking with elastified plaster bands.
Longuettes are applied around the bony structures to make them more prominent.

Softsocket with offset

M

The softsocket with offset covers the prominent bones and allows the prosthesis to be attached easily and without the use of another device.
For a first prosthetic device, where the stump is pear-shaped, by covering the prominent distal section it simplifies the fitting of the prosthesis.

These are used in the following cases :

Cosmetic appearance

Esthétisme

The cosmetic appearance of our devices has always been a major concern.

Particular care is taken in sculpting the shape of the limb, the size of the toes, attaching the toenails, as well as in matching the skin colour.

Our process waterproofs the prosthesis.

Custom-design

Custom design

Michael is on the road! If you see him, greet him!

We have designed his knee joint

with four bars and with Mauch® unit especially for disarticulation.

Michael carried out the knee frame engraving and the airbrush of the socket.
